From August 7 - 13, 2023,
we encourage printers and printmakers everywhere to participate in hosting a virtual art sale or related fundraising activities under the “Printmakers Against Racism” banner!

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT:

STEP 1:
Fill out the Sign Up Form!
Why is this important? So we know who you are, which organizations and mutual aid groups you are supporting, and can send you a donation tracking form after the event. Also, if would-be buyers ask us “We want to buy art and support participants in our city - can you tell us who we can buy from and support?” we can’t refer them to you if we don’t have your info!

STEP 2:
Start the process of educating yourself on the ways oppression is impacting your community. We encourage you to research local organizations and mutual aid networks to support. Share what you’re learning (and unlearning) with others.

STEP 3:
Decide if your art sale will be in-person, online, or both!
If you want to participate, but can’t do a sale right now, check out these other ways to be involved!

STEP 4:
Get inspired
and create some new prints!
Or, review what you’ve already made and decide what you will sell.

STEP 5:
Plan your sale
and how you will announce it on your social media/website/platform with the intention of donating all or the *majority* of the proceeds to a nonprofit, community organization, or mutual aid group fighting for and supporting justice. If you prefer, another alternative is to ask people to make a donation to your preferred mutual aid groups or organizations, have them send you a snapshot of their donation receipt, and then send their chosen art print as a thank you for their donation.

STEP 6:
Plan to launch
your links and sale/event details at on August 7, 2023. All “Printmakers Against Racism” participants will collectively launch our sale links at this time as a sign of unity. Since this is a global event and everyone is in a different time zone, launch your sale at 12:00PM in your area. If the Aug. 7 - 13 timeframe doesn’t work for you, participate in the timeframe that does work for you.

STEP 7:
Name and share
the organization(s) that you will be donating to on your social media accounts/platforms.

STEP 8:
Prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved in your sale event! Please be sure to keep the health and safety of all in mind as you plan the logistics of your sale. If your event is in-person, coordinate sale pick-ups, drop-off, deliveries in ways that follow guidelines for health and safety.

STEP 9:
Share and post
screenshots of your donations (REMOVE ALL personally identifiable information) on your social media accounts, with the #PrintmakersAgainstRacism tag after the event ends.

STEP 10:
Fill out the donation tracking form
HERE when your sale has ended to help us estimate the total collective impact of our efforts. The form will be also be emailed to you after the event.

Our hashtags for this event will be:
